Festivus
ICAPS 2012 revived an age old tradition - Festivus.
The following grievances were all aired at Festivus (videos will be linked when available):
- Mark Boddy, "Nobody is going to use your planner to do anything useful, ever"
- Stefan Edelkamp, "PDB or not PDB? – that’s the Question. A Tribute to Blind Search Planning"
- Sven Koenig, "We should talk to other decision-making communities"
- Federico Pecora, "Planning with Rich Knowledge"
- Erez Karpas, "Incentive-Compatible Reviewing"
And we also had a musical number:
- "The blocks from Ipanema" (Video below - Unstabilized/shaky camera by Ricardo Herrmann)
- Lyrics: Mark Giuliano
- Performed by: Mark Giuliano and Lee McCluskey
This was the call for grievances:
If you would like to air a grievance in this year's Festivus celebration, please send an e-mail to Erez Karpas (karpase@technion.ac.il) with your suggested topic. We only have two rules about the topic:
- Don't re-air old grievances (for an archive of previous Festivus events, see Rao's Festivus page at http://rakaposhi.eas.asu.edu/festivus/)
- Don't rant that nothing has changed as a result of a previous rant
Except for these two restrictions - any topic is fine. We would like to specifically encourage the younger members of the ICAPS community to vent their frustrations, and share their grievances with everyone.
Happy Festivus...
